I'm glad you asked! For the past couple years I've been working on a book (I promise I'm better at writing prose than code) called A Record of His Death. The him in question is this guy, right here ↓
His name is Dr. Jonah Laurent and he is currently (as we speak!) solving his own murder. This is a world where there are two dominant species--commonly referred to as Plainsmen and Foresters--with minor physiological differences that set them apart. The most important difference here is that all Plainsmen carry a disease that makes them come back from the dead as mindless monsters with an insatiable craving for flesh. This can easily be solved by damaging a victim's brain before they die, so society has mostly adapted to the existence of the returned dead. That is, up until recently, when rumors have started spreading about a new kind of dead--maneaters just as lively and intelligent as any living Plainsman, walking among us as we speak. When Laurent wakes up with a slit throat and no memory of what happened, it's his job to figure who killed him and what exactly he has become. There's a much larger cast of characters, a couple mysterious posters turning up around town, and a million other pieces of vampire lore that I want to write right now but should probably figure out how to make hideable sections of text first. Au revoir! Love you, JXXX!
